2011 Season - Episode 4 - New!

Segment 4.1

This segment focuses on pellet appliances. The group starts off by discussing some of the adavantages of visiting the new showroom, which has a wide variety of units and styles available. They go on to discuss the many things that make pellet appliances popular, along with the advantages of burning "biomass" fuels such as pellets. You can also learn more about the quality of the premium pellets sold at Wood Heat.

Segment 4.2

In this informative segment, Todd goes on location at Great American Pellet in Palmerton, Pennsylvania. Jeff Nichols, of Great American Pellet, gives a tour of this brand new facility and discusses how this environmentally friendly fuel source is produced.

In the third part of this pellet-oriented episode, Mark Ackerman gives a demonstration of how easy it is to clean your pellet appliance. The episode concludes with a discussion about the service that Wood Heat provides to our customers after the sale.

2010 Season - Episode 3

Segment 3.1

The show starts off with a brief discussion of the history of Wood Heat, which was founded by Stu Ackerman, in his home, in 1975. Now, 35 years later, there are two convenient locations; one in Quakertown PA and one in Flemington, NJ. The conversation then turns to the advantages of space heating, and the flexibility of direct-vent technology, which vents directly out through the wall. The high level of safety of these modern applicances is also discussed.

Segment 3.2

This segment focuses on gas appliances. The group starts off by discussing some of the adavantages of visiting the new showroom, which has a wide variety of units and styles available. They go on to discuss the flexibility of installing a gas unit, and the differences between a stove, a fireplace, and a fireplace insert. Other topics include heating capacity, thermostatic control, and the advantages an electronic ignition system offers over pilot light. Kathy talks about the gas stoves she has installed in her own house.

Segment 3.3

The discussion about gas units continues in this segment. We learn that a gas unit can run from a propane tank, so natural gas service is not a requirement. We also learn that a gas log or gas insert can be added to an existing fireplace, and that a remote control provides total control and convenience at the same time. A variety of faces are available to beautify and customize the look of your fireplace. Wood Heat now carries and installs veneer stone, which can be used to transform your fireplace in to the focal point of the room. In this segment, you can also learn how to light your pilot and clean the glass in your gas stove.

2010 Season - Episode 2

Segment 2.1

In this segment, the group touches briefly on the new Route 309 location with 85 models on display, and the benefit of saving money while enhancing the beauty of your home. The remainder of the segment is dedicated to the advantages of heating with wood using a modern, clean burning, energy-efficient stove, fireplace, or fireplace insert.

Segment 2.2

In this segment, Todd and Mark demonstrate how to start a fire in a wood stove. The guys also discuss some of the advantages of modern wood burning applicances, such as the efficiency of the non-catalytic combustion system, the air wash system to keep the glass clean, and the convenient ash pan.

Segment 2.3

In this segment, Todd and Mark discuss the advantages of heating your home with wood pellets. Learn about how convenient it is to operate a pellet stove, and also about the easy venting options and flexibility of installation offered by these units. The units come in a variety of sizes, and can heat up to 2500 square feet. Pellet stoves are environmentally responsible, as wood pellets are manufactured from the waste products of a renewable resource.

Segment 2.4

In this segment, Todd and Kathy touch on the Wood Heat website, and on the stone products, now carried by Wood Heat, that can be used to build a beautiful facade for your new fireplace. The show wraps up with some discussion about Wood Heat's loyal customer base, and the fact that Wood Heat is a multi-generational business with multi-generational customers.

2010 Season - Episode 1

Segment 1.1

In this segment, Kathy, Todd, Mark and Stu start off by discussing the history of Wood Heat. They move on to discuss Wood Heat's showroom in Flemington, New Jersey, and their brand new showroom on route 309 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, with 85 models on display. The latter part of the segment focuses on various fuel sources and their benefits.

Segment 1.2

In this segment, they touch briefly on the stone products that Wood Heat now carries that can be used to create a beautiful fireplace. Getting down to brass tacks, the group discusses the benefits of a supplemental heat source, and of a backup heat source. They also touch on the number of operational units in Wood Heat's two showrooms. The Ackermans discuss the benefits of customer preparation, and what information is helpful to bring to the store. They also mention how word of mouth and customer referalls have been very important to the business, and thus the importance of satisfied customers.

Segment 1.3

In this segment, they begin by discussing the new, convenient location on Route 309, with 85 models on display and many burning units. The show then moves in to some Q and A with questions that customers have submitted over the internet. See how the experts at Wood Heat help their customers make informed decisions about the purchase of one of their products. A variety of technology-related topics are discussed, including flexible venting options, fireplace efficiency, multi-fuel units, and thermostat operation. The show closes with a brief discussion about why now is the right time to buy.
